API Playground Quick Start: Send Data to Any Screen in 2 Minutes

Push To Display's API Playground lets you send pre-built messages to a live display board without writing any code. This walkthrough shows the entire flow — from sign-in to content appearing on an iPad — in under two minutes.

What's covered

  1. Sign in on the device — Open the Push To Display app on an iPad and log in. The device is now listening for updates.
  2. Sign in to the web portal — Log in to the admin dashboard at pushtodisplay.com.
  3. Create an API key — Generate a key from the portal to authenticate API requests.
  4. Open the Playground — The Playground has pre-built message templates ready to send.
  5. Send a message — Pick a template, hit send, and watch the content appear on the iPad in real time.

Try it yourself

  1. Download the app on iOS or Android.
  2. Sign in — your first board is created automatically.
  3. Open the web portal and head to the Playground.

What's next?

  • Ready to send from code? See the Quickstart guide for cURL, CLI, Python, Node.js, and C# examples.
  • Want CI/CD integration? The GitHub Action pushes deploy status and build results to any display.
  • Using AI agents? The MCP Server lets Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex push content natively.
